THE BRIEF

This was a referral another Electricus Audio Visual customer who used our services for electrical installation, security design and smart home automation. The client wanted music in every room of the home and all liked watching TV, often different channels/services. The client also wanted to control general and mood instantly with a single button press. They also requested motorised window treatments, as privacy was key, that could be operated from anywhere in the house. Security was also important and they wanted to be notified if someone was on their property before they got to their front door. They also requested CCTV Cameras and WI-FI coverage throughout the home and garden and all the cabling future-proofed.

THE SOLUTION

The carefully curated interior design of the home meant that the technology installed needed to blend with the design so we opted for in-ceiling speakers to provide music in the relevant entertaining spaces. All their video sources where centralised in a rack and distributed to the rooms where they wanted to watch Sky, meaning no unsightly Sky boxes. A bespoke Lutron Lighting control system meant no need for banks of switches and a smart heating and cooling system meant no thermostats were visible but controlled by a discreet single light switch or by using the app. Motorised window treatments were installed that would open and close automatically from dusk till dawn or with a single button press. Perimeter protection was also provided whereby they would get a push notification when someone was trespassing and also hear announcements through the in-ceiling speakers. A Control4 automation system unified all the technology together into a single app/user interface so no need for multiple apps. The system also incorporated an intercom system so they could open their gates remotely – from anywhere! The intercom also had timed access so that gardeners or cleaners could have their own codes to enter the property but only during times specified by the client. Full documentation of the prewire installation was also carried out by us so that every room was future-proofed to ensure no damage to the decor if this was changed at a later date.
