Home Cinema North London
THE BRIEF
The client had a space in their basement which was constructed of concrete which meant the space echoed. They wanted to have a 4K room for watching sports, playing a games console and space for nine people to relax in with seating only and no furniture to maximise space.
THE SOLUTION
Due to the width of the room the seating had to be custom-made to enable us to have seating for nine people, which meant five single seats to the rear of the room and two love seats at the front. We tackled the echo issue by installing a timber frame to house the speakers, acoustic insulation to the walls and ceiling, bass diffusers and reflection panels to help reflect the sound and absorb frequencies. All these measures solved the echo but we also covered the walls and ceiling in fabric, which further improved the sound and also added a luxury feel to the room. For simplicity we installed a Control4 Automation system to control all of the room’s features including the heating and air conditioning, so everything was controlled from one interface at the touch of a button.

THE BRIEF
The client already had a home cinema room but had multiple remotes for each device in the room. They also had a conventional lighting system which needed to be upgraded along with the projector and screen.
THE SOLUTION
Upgrading the 720p Projector to a 4K Projector and 4K Screen meant the clients could enjoy their viewing in Ultra HD. We also installed a retro-fit lighting control system so they could automate the lighting with a single button press. We also installed a Control4 automation system to control the lights and provided a universal single remote that controlled all the AV devices.

THE BRIEF
The client was a huge movie fan and wanted the experience of a commercial cinema in their own home. After they visited our demo facility, we started discussing ideas of what was feasible in their space in terms of speaker layout, lighting design and specification, screen sizes and automation.
THE SOLUTION
After our initial consultation we settled on a 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos configuration which meant the client would have three speakers at the front, which would be hidden behind the screen, two at the rear, one on each side of the room, four in the ceiling and two subwoofers. The AV receiver was hidden outside of the room along with the video sources so no devices were visible
Lighting control was installed in the space which meant the client had the ability to quickly set the lighting mood with a single press of a button. There was also one button to turn the Apple TV on which also turned on the projector, the AV receiver and selected the correct video source, the rest was pure entertainment.

OUR PROCESS
Consultation
We will sit down with you and discuss what you are trying to achieve in your home cinema, How will the room be used?, What type of occasions?, have you had any images that you have seen you like the look of ? This will help our team come up with a concept along with a CGI to illustrate what your room will look like before it’s even built.
Design
After our initial consultation and CGI’s have been approved we will then carry out a design for the room, which will include speaker placement, projector position, screen size, Chair designs and any furniture that will be fixed in place as part of the rooms use (i.e. a Bar area) this design will then be sent for your approval along with a conversation with one of our team, explaining why we have put items in certain places and make any adjustments should there be any.
Installation & Commissioning
Once your design has been approved we move onto the fun part, installing and running all of the cabling for the room, installation of the speakers, installing projector and screen, installing any fabric walling and all other forms of furniture including carpet, once these have all been installed we will then calibrate the room according to your listening as you are the person using the room and every person has a different approach to listening to a film.
